International Photography Festival of Rome 2016

From October 21st, 2016, to 8th January, 2017, MACRO will be hosting the 15th edition of the International Photography Festival of Rome, sponsored by Roma Capitale, the Department of Cultural Growth and the Superintendent Capitolina of Cultural Heritage.

As usual, the exhibition will display pieces from internationally renowned photographers and offers an in-depth glimpse into the world of contemporary photography. The event is being organised by the Zètema Culture Project under the artistic direction of Marco Delogu and co-curated by Alessandro Dandini de Sylva. This year, it will be dedicated to the city of Rome with the theme, "Roma, the world", and so will be sure to deliver many beautiful images of the cityscape, including new ways of seeing some of Rome's most iconic structures.

As a part of the festival, works by Josef Koudelka, Olivo Barbieri, Anders Petersen, Martin Parr, Graciela Iturbide and many others will be on display in the main collection. Other photographers displaying pieces at the festival include Gabriele Basilico, Guy Tillim, Tod Papageorge, Alec Soth, Paolo Ventura, Tim Davis, Paolo Pellegrin and Hans Christian Schink.

Featured exhibitions include:

  • Roger Ballen: The Rome Ballen Times
  • Simon Roberts: New Vedute - Alternative Postcards From Rome
  • Jon Rafman: 26 August 2016
  • Per Una Storia Della Rome Commission
