Xhixha sculptures at Florence & Pisa airports
Sculptures by Helidon Xhixha will be on display at Pisa and Florence Airports from 29th June 2017.
Helidon Xhixha is a contemporary artist who, although originally from Albania, now calls Italy his home, living in the vibrant and chic city of Milan. He is known for his thought-provoking stainless steel sculptures, often fusing metal with contrasting materials, such as marble, to create beautiful pieces that have been admired across the globe.
If you are travelling to Tuscany this summer as part of a multi-centre Italy holiday and are flying via Pisa or Florence Airport then you will have the unique opportunity to admire several scuptures by Xhixha as part of the fourth edition of VolareArte. In total, there are eleven works on show – nine at Pisa Airport and two at Florence Airport – and all show a careful blend of the sculpture with its surrounding environment, with Xhixha utilising white marble, steel, polished metal and Versilys marble to create diverse pieces for the public to enjoy free of charge.
